Welcome to our Eco-Schools Page.

This year we are continuing with our great efforts to improve the world we live in! This year we need to acheive our second GREEN FLAG! Our target date for this is the summer term so, we need to be working as hard as we can to show that we are eco-friendly and making an active difference.
You have appointed your Eco-School Committee, they are the ones you need to contact if you have some great ideas for sustaining our environment. Eco committee members are there for you at any time, check out the eco schools noticeboard to remind yourselves of who they are.
COMPETITION
We need a new Eco-Code for our school. Remember, in school all our hard work towards creating a better future involves us reducing waste, looking after our environment, eating healthily and recycling. Think of these things when creating your Eco-Code and Eco-Logo.
The closing date for the competition is Friday 17th October, all entries need to be returned to Miss Hurley in class 6. The eco-committee will judge the entries, the winners will be announced in assembly on Monday 20th October.
Good Luck everyone!
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
There are lots of things that you can do to help:-
- Recycle everything! We have lots of recycling bins around the school to recycle everything.
- Save energy! The eco-committee are monitoring how much energy we are saving so make sure you switch off all lights, taps, and teachers' whiteboards. Also, make sure all doors and windows are kept closed during this cold period.
- Eat healthily! Choose some of our tasty healthy snacks from the tuck shop or bring in your own fairtrade fruit for breaktimes.
- Look after the school grounds! Keep our environment clean and tidy. Year 6 pupils are feeding birds daily to make sure we are looking after the wildlife in our area.
- Recycle your old phones! We are starting our FONES4SCHOOLS campaign again so bring in all your old mobiles, home phones, charges and accessories. The more phones we recycle the more prizes we will get for school.
